Insurance

Many people with TMJ disorders are reluctant to seek treatment because they are afraid they will be unable to afford the expense. In the past, very few insurers provided coverage for TMJ treatment. However, with the recent expansion of TMJ knowledge, it is now easier to obtain insurance coverage.

Although dental insurance provides limited coverage (this frequently falls under orthodontics), other types of coverage may be available. Since the TMJ treatment approach often involves standard medical procedures, insurance coverage for necessary TMJ treatment is becoming more commonly obtained through health insurance.

It's important to note that every insurance provider is different. We recommend that you check with your insurance provider to explore your coverage and options.
